Daufuskie
Island is located one nautical mile west of Harbour Town
on Hilton Head, and touches the Atlantic Ocean, the
Cooper River, and the Calibogue Sound. A residential sea
island, Daufuskie is home to 500 full time residents
plus a large number of vacationers and second home
owners. Daufuskie Island is also home to several
distinct golf and vacation communities:
Haig Point is a private,
member-owned community that includes a Rees Jones
designed championship golf course, tennis complex,
private Ferry fleet, equestrian center, beach club,
restaurants, and more.

Melrose & Bloody
Point- Daufuskie
Island Club & Resort is a public resort that includes two golf
courses, beachfront hotel and beach cottages, tennis
center, beach club, pool and equestrian center; and Daufuskie Island Resort
also provides public access to Daufuskie through the
club’s Ferry system.

The Oakridge Plantation consists of
39 oceanfront and 2nd row homesites plus a number of
large estate size properties that are less than a 3
minute walk to the beach.

The Historic District of
Daufuskie is comprised of the west side of the island,
and is the home of individuals living in diverse
accommodations, everything from trailers to waterfront

Access to Daufuskie is by regular Ferry service, either
Haig Point’s private Ferry system available to
Haig Point members and guests, or the Daufuskie Island
Resort Ferry which is available to resort guests,
members of the club, the public, and island residents.
There are several water taxis that service the island
and which can provide passengers access to Hilton Head
Island in as little as 5 minutes.
Daufuskie is approximately 6 miles long and 3 miles
wide. Nearby airports are Hilton Head International and
Savannah International. |
