Melrose Plantation is situated on 720 acres of the ocean
side of Daufuskie. Melrose is a full service resort
utilized by both members and tourists, and along with
its sister community of Bloody Point, is part of the
Daufuskie Island Resort and Breathe Spa. The club
includes the 18 hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf
course, tennis courts, the 52 room Melrose Inn, a full
conference center, equestrian center, beach club and
pool, and three excellent restaurants.
Home sites at Melrose list
from $200,000 to over $1,000,000 depending on location,
private homes list from $500,000 and up, and the club
has available oceanview and oceanfront beach cottages
from the mid $700,000s. There are approximately 370
homesites within the existing Melrose resort, and 60
homes have been built to date.
Access to Melrose is by
water with the Melrose Ferry service running from Hilton
Head Island to Daufuskie on a regular schedule. As with
most areas on Daufuskie, once at the resort, access to
other parts of Daufuskie is easy utilizing golf carts,
bikes, and leisurely strolls on the beach. |
